PURPOSE:To suppress a background noise component superimposed acoustically on an object signal by connecting a filter correcting distortion of an output signal due to leakage of an object signal component to a reference signal to the post-stage in a 2-input adaptive filter noise canceller. CONSTITUTION:An adaptive filter 105 adjusted to obtain a correct output based on a know signal S1 and having the same transfer function as that of an adaptive filter 103 is provided. That is, the adaptive filter 104 is a filter inputting an output signal (y) of a microphone 2 and outputting a signal to eliminate a background noise signal component superimposed on a sound signal S inputted to a microphone 1. The output is fed to an adder 3. An adaptive filter 7 correcting the output distortion is provided to the output of the adder 3. The coefficient of the adaptive filter 7 is decided by a coefficient adaptive section 10 and an adaptive filter 9 deciding the coefficient is provided. The adaptive filter 7 realizes the same transfer function as the adaptive filter 9. An adder 8 adds an output of the adder 3 and an output of the adaptive filter 7. The output of the adder 8 is a final noise canceller output.
