PURPOSE:To prevent frequent ON and OFF operation of a compressor and improve its reliability by giving temporary forced opening to the damper for a certain room when the dampers in ducts to send cool or warm air to rooms from a heat pump are all closed due to a low heating load. CONSTITUTION:Cool or warm air from a heat pump 18 passes through a duct 6 and is supplied to each room through a damper 9. Heating load is measured by a heating load measuring means 19 based on the difference of room temperature set up by a thermostat 14 from the present room temperature. A damper control valve judgement means 20 determines the opening of the damper 9 by said measured temperature difference value and, further, said means 20 redetermines the damper opening which delays the time to stop the heat pump operation by the total opening of the damper according to the results of control values of all the dampers, and by the redetermined value of the damper opening the damper is controlled. Since, after the damper is opened forcibly, compression is controlled by the room temperature signal, the operation number of ON and OFF of the compressor is reduced.
