<p>PURPOSE:To find a representative measured value at a sufficiently high speed period to obtain control signals by providing a head sensing the characteristics of a moving sheet-like object, computing means for averaging measured values for each block and means for outputting the representative measured values. CONSTITUTION:The sensor head 2 reciprocated in a direction perpendicular to the running direction (a) of the sheet-like object 1 senses the characteristics of the object 1 for each of the blocks obtained by dividing the object 1 widthwise by equal intervals, and the average value is computed in a computing means 41. The preceding representative measured value signal is introduced from an output value memory means 43 and the average value is processed by filter means 42 to output an average value X(t) of the representative measured value signal. Hence, the representative measured value can be obtained at a period faster than the one-way scan period of the sensor head to make possible a highly responsive measurement of the characteristics.</p> |
