PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency of primitive information input, by providing an information selection means which selects either the input of pattern information input means or the identification result of means which identifies the pattern information, and by directly outputting the patterns which can not be identified. CONSTITUTION:XY cordinates information is written as a graphic on a tablet 1 sent out by line 100 with light pen 2. The cut out part 5 of CPU 4 cuts out the cordinate information of 1 characters corresponding to one word and outputs to a cut out switch 7. The switch selects contacts 1, 2 by the switch operation part 3 of the light pen 2 and sends the output of a character cut out part 5 to a character identifying part 6 where the character is identified and outputted, or sent to the output of the character cut out part 5 as it is to an output part 8. In this way, as the illegible characters such as signature is outputted as it is and processed by outside connecting device, the primitive information input operation becomes more efficient.
