READING METHOD FOR RADIANT RAY PICTURE

PURPOSE:To lessen an unnecessary radiation picture information and to improve the utilizing efficiency of a picture memory device by scanning a radiant ray picture conversion panel that has an accelerated phosphor layer by an excited light beam and reading only the radiant ray irradiated area of the radiant ray picture conversion panel. CONSTITUTION:Radiant ray that transmits a subject 102 at a photographing part 1 is absorbed by a radiant ray picture conversion panel 103. In a pre- reading part 2, all faces of the panel 103 is read by the excited light beam 202 of a pre-reading excited light beam source 201 and a radiation area is decided by a signal from a photoelectric converter 208 in an area calculating part 209. Next, in a regular reading part 3, a reading control part 312 gives a signal to a light turning device 305 and a subscan part 308 by a signal from the calculating part 209 and decides a reading area. A signal from a photoelectric converter 310 is transmitted to a radiant ray reproducing part 4 through an A/D converter 311. Thus, the unnecessary radiation picture information is lessened and the utilizing efficiency is improved.
