PURPOSE:To detect the trouble of a synchronous system line adaptor in an actual job operation by enabling the synchronous system line adaptor to have a function to fold a series transmitting data as a series receiving data back to a communication processing part and a function to detect the presence or absence of the receiving data. CONSTITUTION:A control program, when a polarity change detecting signal 270 is in a reset state, controls a receiving selection indicating signal 252 and enables a reception selecting circuit 25 to select an input port A1 or A2, and afterwards, outputs a parallel transmitting data to a synchronous system transmission part 22. And along with this, the parallel transmitting data is kept to refer a receiving data afterwards. At the same time when a series transmitting data signal 220 that is outputted from the synchronous system transmission part 22 is transmitted to a communication line, it becomes an input to a synchronous system receiving part 26 through the reception selecting circuit 25 and is converted to a parallel receiving data signal 212 and is returned to a communication processing part 1. The control program compares and collates the receiving data with the stored transmitting data and when an inconsistency or an abnormolity is detected in it, informs immediately the occurrence of the trouble in the operation of a synchronous line adaptor 2 to a host device or an operator.
