PURPOSE:To obtain an albumin preparation having high mercaptoalbumin content, by separating albumin fraction from human plasma by fractional precipitation, and removing the non-mercaptoalbumin in the albumin by chromatography. CONSTITUTION:The objective albumin preparation can be produced by separating the albumin fraction from human plasma by fractional precipitation, separating the mercaptoalbumin from the non-mercaptoalbumin in albumin by chromatography, removing at least a part of the non-mercaptoalbumin, and subjecting the albumin to aseptic filtration and heat-treatment. Since the amount of mercaptoalbumin in albumin can be increased, the capability of albumin to bond with various drugs and metabolic products and carrying the components which was insufficient in conventional albumin preparation can be increased to the level comparable to or higher than the albumin in the normal human plasma. |
