PURPOSE:To decrease the factors for flawing by the construction in which holding roll groups for work rolls are substantially within the coaxial plane to hold the loading force from the work rolls and the construction in which said roll groups do not contact with the rolls disposed in a vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:The axial centers of the 1st holding rolls 9 and the 2nd holding rolls 10 are made substantially coincident with each other within the plane passing the axial centers of the work rolls 1 and backup rolls 11. The rolls 9, 10 and the rolls 11 are disposed respectively apart from intermediate rolls 8. The flawing of a rolling material is thus minimized. |
