PURPOSE:To obtain a tester capable of performing withstand voltage inspection, by changing over the connector terminals of a flat cable by a switch even when the arrangement of said connector terminals is different. CONSTITUTION:Voltage Vt for inspecting withstand voltage is applied to per form the usual inspection of connectors 2 having the arrangement of terminals 5 and, when the plus side of the voltage Vt for inspecting withstand voltage is applied to the right side terminals 5, a change-over switch 7 is preliminarily changed over to the side of a contact (a). Because the contact (a) is connected to the line of terminals 5 of the connector 2 to which the minus side of voltage Vt for withstand voltage was applied at this time, a leak current detection circuit 6 also comes to minus potential and no current is flowed to the leak current detection circuit 6 unless a leak current flows. However, in the flat cable having the connector 2 different in the arrangement of the terminals 5 shown by a drawing, voltage having inverse polarity appears in the other terminal of each terminal line. Therefore, by changing over the switch 7 to a contact (b), correspondence can be realized.
