PURPOSE:To eliminate variance in liquid crystal charging time among enclosures and to uniform a cell gap by providing a dam which prevents a seal material from flowing out to a liquid crystal sealing port part and making the size of the liquid crystal sealing port. CONSTITUTION:The dam made of, for example, a glass fiber, an alumina bar, etc., is arranged and adhered on an upper electrode substrate 2a which constitutes part of the liquid crystal sealing port 5 so as to set the liquid crystal sealing port setting size L of the liquid-crystal sealing port 5. In this case, the height H of this dam is not larger than the size of a spacer 3, i.e. the size of the gap G. Then, the seal material 4 containing spacers 3 is applied and printed at a specific position of the upper electrode substrate 2a, which is adhered and arranged while combined with a lower electrode substrate 2b. Thus, the dam 9 is formed at the liquid-crystal entrance 5, so the seal material is stopped by this dam 9 to set the liquid crystal sealing port size to the mutual distance L between dams 9 at any time and also uniform the cell gap G.
