A toothed pulse generator wheel having a marked tooth tip which exhibits an area having a material, the relative permeability and/or specific eddy current losses of which are different from those of the toothed wheel itself. The technical problem is to construct the toothed wheel in such a manner that the mechanical operation of the toothed wheel is not impaired and that the material can be applied to the toothed wheel in as simple and durable manner as possible. A film (12) of the said material is attached to the tooth tip (2). <IMAGE>
