PURPOSE:To eliminate the transverse deflection of a continuous casting belt arising from thermal deformation by attaching permanent magnets to both side edges of the belt and magnet supporting members extending from the side edges toward the center of the belt in such a manner that the same poles face each other. CONSTITUTION:The moving side permanent magnets 10 are attached to both side edges of the belt 1 in the longitudinal direction thereof and the stationary side permanent magnets 11 are attached to the top ends 11a of the magnet supporting members 11b extending from near both side edges of the belt 1 toward the central position. The magnets 10, 11 are so disposed that the same poles N and S face each other. The magnets 10 entering the area where the magnets 11 are disposed receive outward repulsive force 12, then the belt 1 is tensed in the transverse direction and the deflection thereof is corrected. The deflection in the transverse direction of the belt arising from the thermal deformation thereof is thus eliminated. |
