PURPOSE:To carry out suitable covering with a skin material easily and to prevent air from being confined between the skin material and a molding substrate material, by covering the surface of a mold main body with a skin material, applying a vacuum to the remaining space sections via suction holes so that vacuum forming and bonding may be effected, removing the formed items, turning the ends of the skin material onto the undersurface of the molding substrate, and setting the ends. CONSTITUTION:Non-porous molding substrate materials 7 with each upper surface coated with an adhesive 11 are set on slant molding surfaces 3 of a mold main body 1. They are covered with a gas non-permeable skin material 8, the four sides or two sides of the skin material 8 are secured by clamps 9, so that the remaining space sections 10 between the mold main body 1 and the skin material 8 are enclosed. With the skin material 8 heated, suction is applied via thin holes 5 to keep the molding substrate materials 7 onto the slant molding surfaces 3 and the suction also is applied via suction holes 6 located near the bottoms, so that vacuum molding and bonding for the covering can be effected. The skin material ends extending from the periphery of each molding substrate material 7 is turned and set onto the undersurface of the molding substrate material 7 to obtain a final product. |
