<p>PURPOSE:To calculate easily an RL value by recording a required data to a ROM memory in advance so as to follow a code tree for decoding the run length (RL) and receiving each 1 bit of a reception data to record the RL value representing the reception code to a memory cell when the desired final code is reached. CONSTITUTION:A part of a code table for run length RL of white run (''0'' run) and black run (''1'' run) is shown in the fig. A modified Huffman (MH) run length code is a non-definite length code where the code length is not constant as shown in Fig. In receiving an MH code, it is stored sequentially in a memory 1 by 8-bit each. Since the MH code is a non-definite length code, the 8-bit has no special meaning. A CPU3 receives a data from the memory 1 one by one bit, the data is retrieved by a prescribed method while referencing a ROM memory 2, and when the decoding is finished, the RL is outputted and stored in a buffer 4. A display device uses a data in the buffer 4 to display white or black dots. A part of the content of the ROM memory 2 is shown in a ROM table in Fig.</p> |
