In a combined gas turbine/steam turbine system, the outlet of a coal-to-gas plant (1) which is charged with a component flow (K1) of the feed coal is connected to the combustion chamber (2) of a gas turbine block, which consists at least of the combustion chamber (2), a gas turbine (3) and an air compressor (8) which is driven by said gas turbine and is connected on the output side to the combustion chamber (2) and the inlet of an air heater (10) arranged in a steam generator (5), charged at least with coal, of a steam turbine block, and to a generator (9) driven by the gas turbine. The outlet of the air heater is connected at least to the combustion chamber of the gas turbine block in such a way that the preponderant portion of the combustion air (L2) fed to the combustion chamber is guided via the air heater (10). In the system, the outlet of the gas turbine is connected to the furnace (4) of the steam generator (5) of the steam turbine block which, in addition to the steam generator, has at least one steam turbine unit, a generator (12) driven by the steam turbine unit, a condenser and a feed water pump. It is provided for the purpose of improving the efficiency of the system that the coal-to-gas plant (1) is a plant for the complete gasification of the component flow (K1) of the feed coal, and that the steam generator (5) is a steam generator charged only with the remainder (K2) of the feed coal.
