PURPOSE:To improve positioning precision and safety by supporting one terminal of a coupling member rotatably by a moving member with a laser head and the other terminal by a moving member with a position detector in an expansible state, calculating the quantity of snaking through the detector, and stopping both moving members when the calculated quantity exceeds a permissible value. CONSTITUTION:The laser head 10 and semiconductor position detector 14 are installed on columns 8a and 8b which are movable in an X-axis direction, both ends of a bridge 6 are supported atop of the columns 8a and 8b through guide members 15 and 16 rotatably and slidably in an Y-axis direction, and a saddle 5 supporting a tool (not shown in figure) is installed on the bridge 6 so that its driving position is determined freely in the Y-axis direction. Then, the quantity of snaking which is difference in movement quantity between the columns 8a and 8b is detected from the output displacement of the detector 14 which photodetects laser light 12 from the head 10 and the columns 8a and 8b are brought synchronous control on the basis of their movement quantities normally, but stopped urgently if the quantity of snaking exceeds the permissible value. |
