An extrudate (6) which can be produced with a ram extruder and consists of particles mixed with binder has regions of different strength over its length, the abutting region (8), between two extruded sections (7) which can be generated by a ram stroke, having the least flexural strength. In order to eliminate this weak point, the invention proposes bonding the end face (9), formed by the extruder ram (1) with each extrusion stroke, of the pressed extrudate (6, 7) to the subsequent extruded section (11) still to be pressed, by application of an additional adhesive substance (10), more firmly than is possible by means of the binder mixed with the particles. This adhesive substance (10) is introduced in the form of liquid or powder into the extruder barrel (12) during the return stroke of the extruder ram (1) and, as far as possible, distributed such that the tensioned and compressed zones (24, 25), in particular, of the extrudate (6) are additionally bonded. <IMAGE>
