In a safety-belt system, especially for motor vehicles, with a three-point safety belt, with a self-locking belt retractor fastened to a vehicle-body part, and with a clamping device which is arranged on the vehicle-body part and is intended for the belt band and which has at least one movable clamping jaw, the clamping device being guided movably on the vehicle-body part and a drive being provided for moving the clamping device, and the pyrotechnic drive being connected to a sensor for the purpose of triggering it, care is to be taken to ensure an even more reliable triggering of the drive for the clamping device and at the same time the necessary sensor technology is to be simplified. It is proposed, for this purpose, that each drive (23, 24, 25) for each clamping device (22) be assigned in the motor vehicle its own sensor (50) which is coupled to the energy supply of the motor vehicle via feedlines (51). <IMAGE>
