PURPOSE:To enable to prevent the outflow of lubricating oil into a refrigerating cycle by forming a ring-formed oil reservoir with an oil outlet hole at the end of the boss part of the upper bearing in a closed type rotary compressor. CONSTITUTION:A ring-formed oil reservoir 7 is formed at the end of the boss part 5 of an upper bearing in a closed type rotary compressor, and in this oil reservoir 7 an oil outlet hole 8 which is open to the outer circumference of the boss part 5 is formed. Thus, the lubricating oil leaked out from the end of the boss part is returned to the lower part of a closed vessel via the oil reservoir 7 and oil outlet hole 8, and accordingly the leaked oil can be prevented from being changed into mist by the turbulent flow of discharge gas which has been agitated by the rotor of a motor, and outflowing into a refrigerating cycle.
