PURPOSE:To enable the presence of a gas leak to be discriminated with accuracy by comparing the detected values of the level and temperature of a liquid in a tank and the pressure of a liquid in an accumulator with the preset values for these. CONSTITUTION:When the volume of a gas within the gas chamber 16b of an accumulator 16 is decreased due to a gas leak and accordingly the volume of the liquid chamber 16a of the accumulator 16 is increased, the level of a liquid 13 in a tank 12 is lowered. The liquid level at this point is detected by a liquid levels detector 22, and its output is entered into a discriminator 25. At the same time, the temperature of the liquid 13 in the tank 12 is detected by a liquid temperature detector 23, and its output is also entered into the discriminator 25, and then the liquid level of the liquid 13 detected by the liquid level detector 22 iscorrected accordingly. While, the pressure of a liquid in the accumulator 16 is detected by a liquid pressures detector 24, and its output is entered into the discriminator 25. Thereby, the presence of a gas leak can be detected by comparing the corrected values of the liquid level with the detected values of the liquid pressure by the use of the correlation functions preset between the pressure and the level of the liquid in the accumulator 16.
