PURPOSE:To increase the mechanical strength of an active substance and the stability of property, by defining saponification degree of alcohol between 70-95%, in the manufacture of the paste type negative electrode plate, in which a black mix of an active substance mainly of a cadmium compound and polyvinyl alcohol powder is mixed and kneaded together with some solvent to make a paste. CONSTITUTION:After mixing an active substance compositie of 80pts.wt. of cadmium oxide, 15pts.wt. of carbonyl nickel powder, and 5pts.wt. of polyvinyl alcohol with the saponification degree of 80%, the mixture is kneaded with ethylene glycol solution to make a desired paste. In this case, the viscosity of the paste is adjusted by the adding amount of glycol to be 2.9X10<4>cps at the finish of kneading. After that, the paste is spread on an iron punching metal plated with nickel, dried about 15min at 120 deg.C, to make a desired electrode plate. Thus, the saponification degree of alcohol is defined to prevent the increased viscosity in the gelling, in order to eliminate omission. |
