An enteral feeding device comprises a probe tube (1), the leading end of which is associated with a balloon. The balloon (2) can be filled with liquid and can be emptied into a body cavity in the introduced state. A pilot probe (7) constituting a rigidizing element (e.g. metal or plastics) is inserted in the probe tube (1), reaches as far as the leading end of the probe tube, and is separable from the probe tube.
