A description is given of a novel reinforcing fabric for pneumatic tyres, which is used for casing plies, belt plies, bead strips etc. The stuffer yarns (3) are woven with the twisted warp yarns (2) with a predetermined spacing (D) in the longitudinal direction of the said warp yarns, so that the connecting points are fixed. As a result, a smaller thickness of the individual plies can be achieved and, since the spacing in the longitudinal direction is greater than in the case of conventional fabrics, a weight saving can also be achieved. <IMAGE>
