PURPOSE:To reduce the number of component parts needed and to enhance the reliability of the title electric apparatus without using a pump which is rotatingly driven by a method wherein a structure, with which a cooling liquid is fed into a liquid vessel located at a lower part of a winding from the lower vessel of the cooling device which is connected to an airtight case, is provided. CONSTITUTION:As the lower parts of the windings 2 and 3 are dipped into the cooling liquid 8 contained in a liquid vessel 9, a part of the cooling liquid 8 in the liquid vessel 9 is evaporated when the temperature of the windings 2 and 3 goes up while an electric machine is being driven, and the vapor is moved to the upper part of the windings 2 and 3. The windings 2 and 3 are cooled by said vapor, the vaporized gaseous refrigerant is brought into a cooler 5 from the upper entrance 7A of the cooler 5, and the cooled and condensed cooling liquid 8 is gathered in the lower vessel 6 of the cooler 5. When the liquid level of the cooling liquid 8 gathered in the lower vessel 6 goes up higher than the liquid level of the liquid vessel 9, the cooling liquid 8 is moved to the side of the liquid vessel 9 by the siphon phenomenon, and the evaporated cooling liquid 8 of the liquid vessel 9 is replenished. |
