PURPOSE:To prevent heat exchange elements from freezing by intermittently rotating the heat exchange elements to alternatively flow indoor air and outdoor air to first and second passages of the heat exchange elements. CONSTITUTION:Simultaneously with the commencement of the operation of an air-conditioning ventilating fan, a timer operates to actuate a synchronous motor 4 for every predetermined time so as to rotate the heat exchange elements 1 each at an angle of 90 deg.. A position in the heat exchange element 1 which has been initially an indoor side exhaust port 23 is directed from the slantly downward to the slantly upward to form an outdoor side exhaust port 24. Warm air within the room passes therethrough, and hence the freezing within the heat exchange elements is stopped. Molten water content flows out and returns to its original state. The flowed out water content is stored in a drain tank 14.
