PURPOSE:To allow an operator to recognize the exhaustion of fuel positively, by providing an alarm with an alarm controlling means and a manual switch to generate an alarm sound when fuel reaches a specified level while the sound can be stopped with the manual switch. CONSTITUTION:An alarm is made up of an alarm sound emitting buzzer 1, a manual switch 2, a switching means 3, a battery 4, a fuel gauge 6, a variable resistance 7 comprising a fuel gauge 11 provided on the bottom of a fuel tank 10, a fuel residue warning lamp 8, a thermistor 9 comprising a fuel residue sensor 12. Then, as the fuel residue sensor 12 is exposed to the air with a drop in the level of fuel in the fuel tank 10, the temperature rises to lower the resistance value while current increases to make the fuel residue warning lamp 8 light while the potential at a signal input terminal 5 of a switching means 3 lowers make the battery 4 and the manual switch 2 conduct thereby emitting an alarm sound from the buzzer 1. Then, after an operator recognizes the alarm, the buzzer 1 is stopped by opening the manual switch 2.
