PURPOSE:To enable a speed control member actuated by an electric motor to be controlled in an optimum condition regardless of the variation in the voltage of a battery for energizing the motor by enabling the compensation of the component depending on the voltage of the battery. CONSTITUTION:A vehicle is controlled so as to run at a constant speed by reversibly operating a speed control member, such as a throttle valve in a carburetor or the like, by the reversible rotation of an electric motor A. A control switch element D is provided between the electric motor A and an on-vehicle battery C. Main calculating means E is provided for producing a controlled variable signal indicative of the controlled variable corresponding to the difference between actual and target vehicle speed. The controlled variable signal is compensated for the voltage of the on-vehicle battery C by compensation calculating means F. The 'on' time of the control switch element is controlled by control means G in response to the compensated controlled variable signal.
