PURPOSE:The reaction between a aromatic nitro compound, an aromatic hydroxy compound and carbon monoxide is conducted in the presence of a novel catalyst to give the objective compound which is used as a feedstock for agricultural chemicals, isocyanates and polyurethane in high yield with good operability. CONSTITUTION:The reaction between an aromatic nitro compound, an aromatic hydroxy compound and carbon monoxide is carried out in the presence of a catalyst of metallic palladium or a palladium compound, in addition, a cocatalyst of a specific combination of a phosphorus halide, an inorg compound and a tertiary amine, in a solvent such as benzene at 160-220 deg.C under a carbon monoxide-partial pressure of 100-500kg/cm<2>G for 10min-10hr to give the objective compound. EFFECT:Since the catalyst according to the present invention is extremely reduced in its corroding properties, inexpensive usual materials may be employed for the react. |
