PURPOSE:To easily prepare and seal a recording layer without possible damage of grooves during preparing the recording layer by integrating the flexible substrate covered with a recording layer consisting of coloring matter or color compounds and a protection plate with grooves in the surface which are put together with a projecting part of grooves of the protector plate come in rigid connection with the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A disc-shaped flexible substrate 2 with a hole 7 at the center for the shaft carries a recording layer 4, which in turn carries a protection plate 3 with grooves 31 whose projecting part 35 are rigidly connected with a flexible substrate 2 via the recording layer 4. As a result of grooves provided in the recording layer 4, the projecting part of the protector plate 3 and the flexible substrate 2 carrying the recording layer 4 are integrated into an optical recording medium 1. Recording sections on the recording layer 4 located in the grooves of the protection plate 3 do not contact the protection plate 3 and sealed in an enclosed room, and serve as the recording tracks, to which incident light for writing and reading is normally given through the flat rear face of the protection plate 3. |
