PURPOSE:To attain high speed switching an AC in two-way by a 3-terminal circuit by providing two sets of series circuits comprising a diode and a reverse blocking transistor (TR) and controlling the TR by a control current. CONSTITUTION:When a control signal from a terminal (c) gets a low potential at a positive half period of an AC voltage fed to terminals (a, b), a TR 14 is turned off. Thus, no current flows from the terminal (a) to the terminal (b). When the control signal gets a high potential, the TR 14 is turned on. When the control signal is at a low potential with a negative half period of the AC voltage, the control TR 34 is turned off and the TR 24 is turned off. Thus, no current flows from the terminal (b) to the terminal (a). When the control signal reaches a high potential, the TR 34 is turned on and the TR 24 is turned on. Thus, a current flows to the terminal (a) from the terminal (b) via a diode 22 and the TR 24.
