PURPOSE:To speed up opening/closing operation by arranging a dielectric substrate where a microstrip line terminated by a chip resistance is formed nearby the electrodes of an optical switch and sending an opening/closing signal from the microstrip line. CONSTITUTION:Cross light guides 15 and 16 are constituted nearby the surface of the substrate 14 made of a material having electrooptic effect. Electrodes 20 and 21 which are applied with the opening/closing signal are provided over the intersection part of the cross light guides. The microstrip line 23 is formed on the top surface of the dielectric substrate 22 and the earth conductor 28 of the microstrip line is provided on the reverse surface. Further, the chip resistance 24 is connected between the earth conductor 28 and a conductor part 25 which is connected electrically. The electrode 20 and strip line 23 are wired 26 and the electrode 21 and earth conductor 28 are connected electrically. The electric signal is supplied to an input terminal 27. Consequently, the opening/ closing electric signal having ultra high frequency is supplied to the electrodes electrically, and consequently inputs from input terminals 16 and 17 are switched at an extremely high speed and outputted from an output terminal 18 or 19. |
