<p>PURPOSE:The waste shale and the hot gas from the carbon combustion furnace are utilized as a heat source for dry distillation of finely powdered oil shale, whereby the yield of oil is increased and the operation costs are saved. CONSTITUTION:Waste shale from retort 4 and the hot gas from the carbon combustion furnace 7 where finely powdered oil shale burns are used as heat sources for dry-distillation of oil shale in the cross-flow type retort 4. The ratio of coarse powder oil shale to fine powder oil shale is about 10:1 and stabilized operation is guaranteed, even when the amount of residual carbon and the heat-recovery yield fluctuate depending upon the kinds of oil shale an distillation conditions.</p> |
