PURPOSE:To connect a photoelectric signal conversion device to an optical transmission cable with an excellent space factor without inflecting the cable forcibly by dividing a housing and internal components into two units and coupling them together rotatably. CONSTITUTION:The photoelectric signal conversion device consists principally of three parts, i.e. optical signal transmission and reception part A, electric signal transmission and reception part B, and photoelectric conversion part 2' and the housing in which said components are put is divided into two units, i.e. rotary unit 1-a and fixed unit 1-b. The two units are coupled together mechanically rotatably so that the units are rotatable electrically and optically. In this case, the leading-out direction of the optical transmission cable 4 of the connection-side unit 1-a for the optical transmission cable 4 is at right angles to the direction of the axis of rotation between the units.
