PURPOSE:To prevent the melting of a base film even if the quantity of heat applied to a thermal head increases and to prevent the obstruction of heat conduction to an ink layer, by providing a protective layer comprising a resin containing a metallic crosslinking agent to the back surface of a base film. CONSTITUTION:A resin containing a metallic crosslinking agent consists of (1) the metallic crosslinking agent such as an org. comound or chelate compound of titanium, zirconium or aluminum or a mixture thereof, (2) a resin having a hydroxyl group, a carboxyl group or a sulfone group chemically reacted with the metallic crosslinking agent, (3) a resin containing no reactive substituent but compatible with the above mentioned resin and (4), if necessary, powdery inorg. extender pigment such as silicon oxide, barium sulfate or calcium carbonate. An abrasion resistant and heat resistant protective layer is provided to the back surface of a base film provided with an ink layer in a thickness of about 0.01- several mum, pref., 0.1-0.5mum. |
