PURPOSE:To increase a copying speed while holding the processing speed of image formation constant by carrying on copying operation continuously and erasing an untransferred side unless the jamming of one sheet of transfer paper affects the other sheet of transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:Copying operation is normally interrupted in case of jam occurrence in a copying machine, but if a jam occurs on a conveyance path in another copying mode, the other copying operation is carried out unless the jam position affects the other copying operation. The jam position where there is no influence is a paper unfeeding jam in a paper feeding device or both- surface tray or paper discharge defective jam at a paper discharge part. Branches B and E in flow charts (a) and (b) correspond to the paper unfeeding jam and paper discharge defect respectively. A paper feed sensor when turning on during the passing of paper turns on after paper feeding operation and a paper discharge sensor is positioned at a paper discharge port and turns on during the passing of paper. When the copying operation of one side is carried on, a jam occurrence side is erased and its image is not developed on a photosensitive body. |
