PURPOSE:To form the image of the entire surface of an original securely by delaying the start of image formation according to the detection result of the distance of displacement of the original from the reference part of an original platen. CONSTITUTION:If the original is displaced from the reference position in a (d)-coordinate direction, the hatched part of the original is detected by a pressure sensor 90 by utilizing the pressing force of an original cover 11 and a low-level signal is stored in the address of a memory 120 which corresponds to the detected part. A main processor group 71 calculates coordinates of end parts of the original from the contents of the address of the memory 120 and compares them with reference coordinates 0 to judge that the original is displaced from the reference position only in the (d)-coordinate direction, thereby calculating the quantity (x) of displacement in the (d)-coordinate direction. Then when a copy key is pressed, the processor group 71 delays the start timing of copying operation by the quantity (x) of displacement and starts the copying operation. Consequently, the copy of the entire surface of the original is taken securely. |
