PURPOSE:To enable a strand to be transported stably without assistance from an arbitrary pair of belts to the following pair of belts of a method wherein a cooled fluid ejector having a flat top with a slit tip is arranged in on at least of clearances between a pair of upstream belts and an pair of downstream belt and the clearance is bridged by a flat top to eject cooled fluid from the slit on the top tip. CONSTITUTION:The cooled water ejector C is arranged between the upper belt and the lower belt so that the top section 25 prepared in a plane form is bridged on a clearance 4 over the nearly whole width of the belt from the lower belt 7 of a pair A of the upstream conveyor belts to the lower belt 14 of a pair 8 of the downstream conveyor belts. The cooled water ejected from the slit 26 of the cooled water ejector C in the advancing direction of the strand cools the strand and gives positive direction regulating function to the strand. Therefore, the free end of the strand reaches the front end of the upper belt 13 in good order, is caught by the belt 13 and thereafter transported while being held between belts 13 and 14. |
