PURPOSE:To provide a permanent magnet having two-directional magnetic anisotropy, by rolling an Fe-Co alloy plate containing specific elements at a draft ratio higher than a specific value to increase the integrity in the specific orientation, then subjecting it to two-phase separation annealing in the magnetic field direction equivalent to the rolling direction, and aging it at a temperature lower than that of the two-phase separation annealing. CONSTITUTION:A plate of alloy having a chemical formula of Fe100-a-bCoaMb in which M is at least one selected from the group of Cr, Mo, W, Zr, Ti, V, Nb, Cu, Ta, Mn, Si, B, P, Al and Sn, and in which (a) is 3-35% by weight and (b) is 10-35% by weight, is rolled at a draft ratio of 40% by weight or more so as to increase the integrity in the orientation of {100}<011>. The alloy plate then subjected to two-phase separation annealing in the magnetic field whose magnetic field direction is equivalent to the direction in which the plate has been rolled. The alloy plate is then subjected to aging annealing at a temperature lower than the temperature of the two-phase separation annealing. According to this method, a plate-type permanent magnet having two-directional axis of easy magnetization can be obtained. |
