MANUFACTURE OF BLANK FOR SHADOW MASK

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain a blank for a shadow mask capable of undergoing photoetching to pierce fine holes and giving a smooth etched surface by regulating the C content in an Ni-Fe alloy to a specified small amount and the final draft to a specified value. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled steel sheet of an Ni-Fe alloy is cold rolled once or more to a prescribed thickness and annealed to manufacture an Ni-Fe alloy blank for a shadow mask. At this time, the C content in the Ni-Fe alloy is regulated to 0.01-0.001wt% so as to reduce the amount of carbides which are harmful to the pierceability during photoetching and the final draft in the cold rolling stage is regulated to 40-70% so as to reduce the grain size and to smoothen an etched surface.
