PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for replenishing of a molten metal meeting the amt. of casting at every end of one casting operation by constituting a molten metal communicating pipe which holds the level of a molten metal always upper than the level in the mold cavity in such a manner that the diameter of the aperture at the other end of said pipe is twice larger than the diameter of the molten metal communicating hole of a sliding gate. CONSTITUTION:The sliding gate 8 is retreated to shut off the communication between the aperture 13 of the metallic mold 13 and the aperture at the top end of a pouring pipe part 6 and to pour the molten metal 4 through the aperture at the top end of the part 16 into the communicating pipe 3. The pouring is stopped when the molten metal 4 attains the prescribed upper limit level in the large-diameter part 17 of the pipe 3. The gate 8 is then advanced to admit the molten metal 4 in the part 16 through the molten metal communicating hole 7 into the mold cavity 14 thereby pressurizing the molten metal. The gate 8 is retreated to interrupt the communication between the sprue 15 and the aperture at the top end of the part 6 upon lapse of the prescribed time. The mold 13 is then opened and the casting is taken out to complete the 1st operation. The gate 8 is opened in succession thereto and the 2nd casting operation is carried out by the stage similar to the above-mentioned stage.
