PURPOSE:To obtain a hydraulic cylinder which can be easily manufactured and retreat a piston by a fixed amount from the end of a cylinder by providing a projection which is urged to the end wall of a hydraulic cylinder by a spring and adapted to retreat a hydraulic piston by a fixed amount. CONSTITUTION:An inner sleeve 8 fitted in an outer sleeve 7 is provided on one end of a hydraulic cylinder body 1 in such a manner as to project into the cylinder. The inner spline 8 is urged by a spring 5 in the outer sleeve 7, whereby when a piston 2 reaches the end wall, and then oil pressure is unloaded, the piston is retreated by a fixed amount. As the spring 5 is disposing outside an operation chamber, the assembly work is simplified.
