PURPOSE:To prevent surging of superchager by providing a bypath for the intercooler of engine associated with a supercharger and bypassing the supply air in the region where the intake air of engine is low and the supercharge will over rotate. CONSTITUTION:An intercooler 42 is arranged in the supply air path 14 of engine having a turbo-superfcharger 18 while a bypath 44 is provided and a bypass valve 46 is arranged in the branch of said patch. Control unit 62 is provided with signals indicating the intake air 64, the intake air pressure 66, the supercharge pressure 68, the rotation 70 and the opening of throttle valve 80 to produce a control signal from a solenoid valve 60 for diaphragm mechanism 48 of bypass valve 46. Since the supercharger will cause surging under such range where the intake air is low and the compressor pressure ratio Po/Pi of the turbo-supercharger 18 is high, the bypass valve 46 is opened to lower the supercharge pressure Po thus to prevent surging. |
