PURPOSE:To prevent droppage of thermal efficiency even for abundant bleed air flow by providing a coupling transmitable/interruptable the rotary power or having the ratchet function in tandem steam turbine. CONSTITUTION:A generator 1, a high pressure turbine 2, a low pressure turbine 3 are arranged in tandem. A coupling 5 enable of transmitting/interrupting operation of rotary power is coupled between said turbines 2, 3. The exhaust gas from the low pressure turbine 3 is led to an air-cooled condenser 4. Said coupling 5 will perform interrupting operation when work is not executed at the final stage or the low pressure turbine. Consequently, droppage of thermal efficiency can be prevented. |
