PURPOSE:To average synchronization and to obtain a stable vehicle speed by measuring a pulse output time corresponding to a vehicle speed and dividing the measured value by the number of times of pulse output to find out the synchronization of pulse signals. CONSTITUTION:When pulse signals P are supplied from a vehicle speed sensor 3 to a controller 5 during the advancing of a vehicle and the number of input pulses P reaches a sampling number (n), the contents of a period area A2 of a work memory 6 are transferred to an area A3, and the contents stored in an area A1 are transferred to the area A2. Then, the contents stored in a counter area storing the counted value of pulses TP from a timer 4 are divided by the sampling number (n). Consequently, the average period per pulse of the signal P can be found out. Thus, the period variation due to factors other than speed change can be suppressed.
