PURPOSE:To engage a lower box body of a first paper feeding cassette with a paper feeding part and hold it at a regular position as well as to prevent it from slipping off, by installing an engaging device for engaging the first paper feeding cassette with the paper feeding part when a second paper feeding cassette is fitly installed in the first paper feeding cassette. CONSTITUTION:A second paper feeding cassette (upper cassette) 20 is moved to the right, fitted in a first paper feeding cassette (low cassette) 10, and at the time of performing the feed of recording paper by the upper cassette 20, a bottom part 21D of an upper box body 21 of the upper cassette 20 comes into contact with a top part 15B of a lock member (engaging member), pressing it down. With this constitution, a claw part 15A of the lock member 15 jumps into a notch part 30B of a paper feeding part 30, engaging a lower box boxy 1 of the lower cassette 10 with the paper feeding part 30. In consequence, even if the upper box body is some that put back, the lower box body 1 is left locked to the paper feeding part 30 intact, thus it is kept in a regular position and never slips off.
