PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance useful as a synthetic intermediate for surfactant, pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, etc., easily in high yield, by reacting a di(haloacyl) peroxide with a pyridine compound and a fluoroalkylcarboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:A fluorine-containing pyridine derivative having X1(CF2)n1 group introduced into the pyridine ring can be produced by reacting a di(haloacyl) peroxide of formula I (X1 is F, Cl or H; n1 is 1-10) with pyridine or mono- or disubstituted pyridine and a fluoroalkylcarboxylic acid of formula II (X2 is F, Cl or H; n2 is 1-10) at a molar ratio of (0.5-3):1:(1-1.5) under normal pressure at 20-40 deg.C for 3-10hr. The expensive fluoroalkylcarboxylic acid can be recovered and reused after the completion of the reaction.
