PURPOSE:To enable high speed and high density recording by applying a reversing magnetic field to an irradiation area of light beam on a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Such a construction that lines of magnetic force emitted from a magnetic pole 6b are concentrated in a small area of the stylus-shaped magnetic pole 6a as well as that the lines of magnetic force pass through an internal magnetized film 8b arranged in the recording medium 8, that is, the magnetic head 6 and the internal magnetized film 8b constitute a closed magnetic circuit, enables a high density magnetic flux to be applied normal to the laser irradiation area of the vertically magnetized film 8c. Thus, the magnetic field for modulation purpose generated by the magnetic head 6 is effectively applied to the recording medium 8, enabling high density recording. |
