PURPOSE:To decrease an amount of water used to a minimum value, by a method wherein a spread pipe, through which sand can be spread right therebelow, and a jump pipe, through which sand can be spread in a horizontal direction from a ship hull, are provided, and this enables sand to be spread even if the depth of water is low. CONSTITUTION:In a sand spreading ship which is used in water carriage practice, by which a soft ground is covered with soil, a spread pipe 2, through which sand can be spread right therebelow, and a jump pipe 4, through which sand can be spread in a horizontal direction from a ship hull, are provided. A valve 5 and discharge ports 6 and 8 are situated to each of pipes 2 and 4 an energy-reducing surrounding is attached to a discharge port 6 of the spread pipe 2, and this enables sand to be spread within a range limited to a specified area without diffusing sand in water. The utilization of the jump pipe 4 permits sand to be effectively spread in even the corner part of an embarkment where the depth of water is too low to allow enterance of a ship. This, in either case, enables an amount of water used to be decreased to a minimum value necessary to a construction work.
