The invention relates to a reinforcing device for a lock, making it possible to block a leaf element 2 in the closed position against the frame 3 of a door or of a window. It is characterised by blocking means 7 preventing the rotation of all or part of the bolt when the leaf is in the closed position, that is to say when the bolt 4 is engaged in the keeper 6; this avoids the deformation of the rigid and movable connection linking the bolt to the control means, this deformation being attributable to the push which can be exerted on the outer and inner sides. According to the solutions, the blocking means consist of a stop flush with the bolt over a localised contact zone, of a stop plate or of a localised stop and a stop plate 19. The stop plate 19 can be associated with an armour plate 23: the part 24" then forms a stop, as does the edge 20b of the keeper 6. <IMAGE>
