PURPOSE:To obtain a reproducing signal having a frame pulse signal with sufficient phase information by inserting a signal having a waveform corresponding to an accurate frame pulse signal to the frame pulse signal location of the reproducing signal. CONSTITUTION:A video signal is recorded/reproduced and the reproduced signal SVO is fed to a signal position detection circuit 5 to detect a frame pulse signal location. A detection signal SD is used as a control signal to generate a signal PF, having a waveform corresponding to a frame pulse signal with correct waveform during a frame pulse signal period of the reproducing signal SVO, from a signal generating circuit 6 and the signal is fed to the terminal B of a switch circuit 4. The signal SD is used as a switching control signal to connect a clamp circuit 4 to the position B only during the frame pulse signal period of the reproducing signal SVO and to connect it to the position A in other periods. A signal SVO' having the frame pulse signal PF, with sufficient phase information is obtained and a clock signal synchronizing with the frame pulse signal is obtained surely in a monitor receiver 2 or the like.
